Lapland

From the hustle and bustle of markets, it's nice to experience the quiet serenity of nature.

The cultural region of Lapland includes four countries, Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia. We drove in the Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish Laplands this Spring, and the areas did seem to be more culturally unified, like a country of its own, but the landscapes did vary. 

Finnish Lapland is flatter with its soft fells,

Norwegian Lapland is sharper with its mountain fjords,

and Swedish Lapland falls in between, with softer mountains and fells.
